Since initiated in 2004 by performance artist/percussionist Xtevion, Schizopolitans have been Reno Nevada's premier Avant-Rock combo. Schizopolitans create a dense aural landscape that is often epic in scope. The material plays out like short film soundtracks that transport the listener into unknown territories. Schizopolitans make movies in your mind. Over the years there have been many incarnations, but Xtevion and his voice remain the driving force that remains constant. Xtevion's classical theatre training  informs an exciting and slightly dangerous persona that adds to the mysterious nature of the music. In 2006 he created his own electronic percussion instrument "the Big Black Stick" which adds another striking visual and sonic element to the performances. Andy Jorgensen's skillfully wicked bass grooves keep the blood pumping and flowing while Hector Urtubia (aka Next Door Ninja) mans the console with playful rhythms and warm melodics as well as playing the fretless bass on some of the heavier songs. Over and under that is Xtevion making strange mouth sounds and pounding the drums and electronic percussion augmented with occasional other worldly sound effects.  Almost all of Schizopolitans' material is created from recorded improvisations and often maintains the feeling of discovery found in the initial inspirations. The lyrics predominately come from decoding and structuring the phonetic ramblings and wailings found on the initial recordings and are undecidedly open to interpretation.  The current line-up (Version 8.0) has been creating together since 2008 and has amassed a huge amount of recorded material, some of which will inevitably be unleashed on to the public for their consumption. ...Most bands play music...
