Zahirah Drawsand (popularly known as Zahirah) is an African American underground R&B artist signed to her own music label LunchBox. Zahirah was born and raised in Sacramento California. Zahirah always was a singer songwriter, writing her first song at the age of 6. She would sing it to her mother, also known as her manager Saleema, would write it down for her. By age 12 she started singing for funerals, weddings, events etc. passing out business cards. Over the years Zahirah has tried out for X-Factor, The Voice and Americas Got Talent!She attended an art school all her life starting off at Creative Connections Arts Academy (CCAA) for elementary and graduated from Natomas Charter School Performing Fine Arts Academy with a Distinction in Music. While attending Natomas Charter, Zahirah started taking a class called Audio Technology & Music Production where she learned how to produce and record her own music to become more than a triple threat.  Throughout her whole life artist like Lauryn Hill, India Arie, Erykah Badu, Jazmine Sullivan, and Kehlani have influenced Zahirah. Not only to be a better woman but to also be a better artist.  "Every artist I named is about girl power but is also aware of what's going on in the world. These women are like the Tupac and Biggie. These women are the reason why my music is the way it is." - Zahirah Growing up I was always told that my voice was too grown for me and I became very insecure about my art form. I had went to a different charter called Creative Connections Arts Academy and even there I was told I'm too loud and too grown for the vocal style we did at school. I would always have to take advice from others or from my aunt, mother, or vocal coach in order to learn how to blend but I knew that I would have to apply them as soon as I got the advice to become a better singer. It took a while and I'm still not there but I have become better on the advice taking and have been observant to the techniques in music. In the summer of 2015, Zahirahs' first mixtape WAVES came out, including 14 tracks plus a bonus track. Her hits singles included Big Mistake, Get it Got it Good and Fine Art. Zahirah didnt get a lot of traction on this project but that did not stop her. The following year in June, she released an EP called Beautiful Problem. The EP did so well physically as she sold out on her 150 limited physicals in less than a month. Currently, The artisit is working on 3 new projects all self produced to be availabe on all streaming platforms but while all of that is still in the works, she has released some singles every now and then. Her most recent single YAT A TAT TAT off her soon to come rap mixtape HOOLIGANS HOOPIN' AND HOLLERIN' VOL. 1 has been a fan favorite. This is her first song to be noticed by Underground Radio stations and to get playlist placements. Less
