Emily Cole is an award winning Houston/NYC recording artist, alternative/pop singer/songwriter, from Montgomery, Texas. While her produced/released music is pop, her live shows are acoustic, and she accompanies herself with guitar, ukulele, keys; she plays as a solo artist, as a duo, and with her band. As a young girl, Emily was influenced by entertainers like Miley Cyrus, during her Hannah Montana years, but her tastes changed as Emily grew older. Now, she cites artists such as Billie Eilish, Halsey, Bea Miller, and Melanie Martinez as her biggest musical influences. “I always wanted my own music to be different, so when I stumbled across songs by Billie and Melanie, I found this unique vibe in the music and lyrics. Their music is unlike anything else you hear on the radio.” Self taught and able to play several instruments, Emily also focusses her attention on the art of songwriting, a passion she discovered while attending a songwriting camp at the age of 12. At age 15, she released her self-titled debut album, Emily Cole. Several singles have followed, some of which have offered her being acknowledged as a writer and/or artist, and offering her awards and performances at awards shows. Recent nominations are for International Singer Songwriters Association’s (ISSA) Finalist Nominee as “Young Adult Artist of The Year” and “Female Songwriter of The Year.” Emily has been invited to perform at ISSA’s Awards Show, August 3rd, taking place at Dawson County Performing Arts Center, Atlanta, Georgia. Emily Cole is also nominated by The Josie Music Awards in two categories, “Pop/ Contemporary Artist of The Year” and “Vocalist of The Year.” She will be attending their Awards Show at the Celebrity Theater inside The Dollywood Theme Park in Tennessee, in September, 2019. Emily Cole is an advocate for events/charities that help children with cancer and today’s at risk youth. She visits Texas Children’s Hospital to perform for the children and their families. Emily performs annually for the Houston Via Colori. This year, she will be performing on the main stage with her band. She’s taken the stage at several popular venues, including Warehouse Live, Main Street Crossing, Dosey Doe Big Barn, and she’s traveled to perform in events such as NAAM’s Winter Show and NOLA's Cutting Edge Music Conference, with most recent travel taking her to Hollywood, CA to perform at the historic Roxy Theatre. Upcoming festivals will have her in Houston, TX, Old Town Spring, TX, Colorado’s Monument Indie Fest, Ventnor’s Lawn Fest, and more.
