Originally taken from his own last name, ThePostmOn is a name that has stuck—and surprised—when people realize that Postman is the actual family name. More than the surname-inspired DJ handle, ThePostmOn is also truly the messenger of inspired and conscious music. ThePostmOn started DJing reggae music in the early ‘90s, and held Reno’s longest-running club DJ reggae night, Rasta Sessions, (at The Zephyr) later parlaying those club sets into the eight-and-a-half-years running public radio [KUNR 88.7 FM] show Reggae Fi’Real. Anthony’s longtime enduring fascination with world music led him to create and host World Spins; as well as The Dub Zone, reflecting his interests in reggae dub, and the many offshoots of mostly instrumental electronic music. The five hours weekly of radio programming gave Anthony invaluable experience presenting music, through the arrangement of hundreds of varied sets. ThePostmOn also brought world music, global beats, and varied electronic forms to two more residencies (at Reno’s original Chocolate Bar, as well as Tonic Lounge), lending both great atmosphere and superlative beats to the World Lounge International sessions.  ThePostmOn’s current residency—World Lounge International 3.0—is at the popular Tea Lounge, held every Wednesday and Friday at The Studio Reno, where he specializes in creating a lush sound environment, featuring deep dubstep, world and afro house, mixed with widely travelled global beats, reggae and dub, and more… The music is always mind opening and conscious, perfect for heartical journeys into conversation—or onto the dance floor.
