The Fantods are a trio that plays old, somewhat damaged instruments in a style that might best be described as hillbilly-funk fusion. Or not. Their repertoire of mostly original music runs the gamut from tightly arranged countryesque songs in the vein of Ryan Adams and Tom Waits (as if there were such a vein) to extended high-energy improvisations. Their shows feature great Americana vibe, the excitement of musical spontaneity, and excellent musicianship and groove.
