Mfundo Mtshali, better known by his stage name,Mndo, is an artist/singer from Durban, South Africa. He has successfully been able to blend R&B, Soul and Afro Pop into a sound that is his own. He released his first song in August of 2018, a track called “Work Hard”. He has collaborated many times with fellow artist/producer Jiggy Genius, who is also from Durban. Mndo’s first project came in March of 2019, a 6-song EP called Taurus War. The EP was produced by fellow artist/producer Jiggy Genius, who is also from Durban. Later that month, Mndo appeared on 2 songs on Jiggy Genius’ 6-song EP titled “Breakdown”. They later announced they were working on a collaborative EP. The 6-song EP, “Trip To Space”, would be released in April of 2019. This time, the entire EP was produced by So Fye , a producer from the United States. This was the first time they worked together. This EP saw Mndo switch from using R&B beats to Rap Beats. Mndo’s unique voice and Jiggy Genius’ great flows mixed with So Fye’s wavy beats made catchy songs, and the EP was well received by Mndo’s fans. Mndo also gained some new fans with this release. Mndo capitalized on the hype from Trip to Space and released some more songs shortly after. On these releases, Mndo returned to his normal R&B/Soul sound, for the songs were produced by Jiggy Genius. After his last release in June of 2019, Mndo took a break from music for about a year. He focused on his clothing brand, Mndo Couture. Mndo returned to music in June of 2020, with a track titled “Escape”, produced by Jiggy Genius. This is arguably his best song to date.
