G. Washington is the consummate musician and Hip Hop historian. Born in Bronx Lebanon just months after Hip Hop was birthed in the same boro of the South Bronx, G was introduced to the culture at an early age beginning emceeing at 7 years old. G was frequently in the company of Ultramagnetic MCs and Boogie Down Productions, largely in part to growing up in the same neighborhood known throughout NYC as 169th St. aka The Nine. Formerly known as Gangsta Boogie, G was establishing a strong presence on various DJ mixtapes in the mid 90s, even appearing on the Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito radio show on the infamous night of Feb. 23, 1995 when the late Big L and Jay-Z laid down the legendary 7 minute freestyle cipher. Despite not being a scheduled guest or knowing that he would get to rhyme on radio that night, G shook the building up that night as well. That year would see G record and shop demos in hopes of getting a record deal. The pursuit without knowledge of the business would eventually discourage G to the point of retirement in 1999.
