Emmanuel Kwaku Duah (born December 25, 1993), better known by his stage name Genius KD , is a Ghanaian indie rapper & singer. Genius KD is an Afro-fusion artist from Ghana who has made a name for himself as a songwriter, producer, singer, and rapper. His journey into music began during his high school days in 2012 when he started writing his own songs. In 2013, he began recording with some of Ghana's finest producers, including Rayne, Khendibeatz, and Bla Broda. One of his earliest releases was a hip-hop single titled "Art," which featured Mr. Muffin and was produced by the Netherland-based producer Tantu. Over the years, Genius KD has collaborated with other artists such as Jeniso, Seaman Burner, Big Kenn, and Jay Michael, among others. In 2018, Genius KD announced his upcoming EP titled "Sweat & Prospect" after releasing his single "Never Let Go," which was produced by Rayne. Later that year, he collaborated with Lifestyle Dynasty Management to create a cover song called "MK Story" that showcased his community, Mankranso. Throughout his career, Genius KD has worked with various producers, including Larry Lahrey, Jakhan Gravity, Bla Broda, Dani Ralph, Jo Wayne, and DJ Tower. In 2020, he signed a one-year deal with Hills Records, a Nigerian-based record label. Genius KD's hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed, as he was awarded the Artist of the Year at the first edition of the Ahafo Ano South Awards organized by Lifestyle Dynasty Management in May 2021.
