On June 23, BOOHER will release a deluxe edition of their debut, Funny Tears, via Old Flame Records. The deluxe edition, which includes two unreleased songs, comes at a critical time in Michael Booher’s life – having recently been released from a weeklong sojourn in the hospital being treated for pneumonia and undiagnosed asthma. The mere fact that Michael has been performing over a dozen shows a month with his and other acts speaks volumes to his dedication to the craft of rock and roll. Pensive and uplifting, Funny Tears is all the fist pumping good times of an all-American band steeped in the golden age of jagged catharsis –a continuation of the best days of storied alterna-something-something largely thought lost and not to be heard from again. Produced by Mike McCarthy (Spoon, Patty Griffin, Heartless Bastards), Funny Tears is a collection of short sharp rockers and big orchestrations such as “Ouroboros,” “Autographin' Bibles,” “Neighbor” amid slow-builders “Funny Tears” and “As Soon as I know.” Rising above the rampant anonymity of the saturated Austin scene in the course of six years as frontman/songwriter for Zykos, BOOHER will hit the road in 2017 in support of Funny Tears, further adding to tour mileage that includes stages shared with the likes of Explosions in the Sky, Cursive, TV on the Radio, The Hold Steady and a couple of one offs with Interpol, The Shins, and The Walkmen. - Paul Stinson Filmed on location in Austin, Waller & Llano, TX above & below the clouds of the surrounding Hill Country. "As soon as I Know" blends elements of family, nostalgia, introspection and hope. Simple images of feeling like you're always moving backwards while you're actually a single frame from moving towards your dreams and aspirations. You can get there. As Soon As I Know
