Aszelee grew up in the foster care system and has admitted to being bounced around to more than 100 foster homes throughout Knoxville, Tennessee and surrounding counties in her youth. When she became of age, she was booted from the system and had no clue what to do with her life. Three years ago, she decided to take music seriously and has been working diligently ever since. Aszelee J. has also been quoted saying: ” I want to spread positive vibes through music that puts the audience in a happy place. I just want to connect with the people.” Hip Hop/Soul recording artist Aszelee J. hit the ground running in 2016 with her versatile image and soul-influenced signature sound that she’s known for. Her music borrows sounds from the “old school” and merges with hip-hop to create a “new school” feel. Hailing form Knoxville, TN, Aszelee J. released her debut mixtape entitled, Soul Skool in December 2017 with great success and fanfare. She is set to release her follow up entitled, I’m Not Shy in 2020. Aszelee J. is a performer and a true artist. She blazed the field when she performed the half-time show at the USWFL U.S. Women’s Football League Championship, and she has been on fire every since. She completed the Soul Skool Atlanta Tour at the beginning of 2018 to further promote her mixtape. Aszelee J. graced the cover of the spring 2018 issue of Beauteous Magazine. She ended 2018 with a bang by completing a follow-up tour from Miami up the east coast to New York City.
