Composer, guitarist and bassist Andy Cymerman hails from Amherst, N.Y. where he grew up playing guitar and bass with a variety of ensembles. He was profoundly influenced by late '60s psychedelia as well as composers, guitarists and bassists from many other eras. During the Amherst years his emphasis was on live performance with large doses of improvisation whenever possible. Moving west coincided with a shift to composing and recording as the primary objective.
