Xtevion is the pseudonym for S. K. Patterson. A drummer since the age of nine and a classically trained actor. He began recording his original songs with the experimental duo Tapecase back in 1989.He has continued to create and record on his own and with a varied assortment of other musical and theatrical talent over the years as well as the ongoing collaboration with tapecase/rhansmall. Since 2004 Xtevion has been driving force behind Reno Nevada's premier Avant-Pop combo SCHIZOPLOITANS. In 2006 he created his own instrument "the big black stick"which is a six foot tall electronic percussion instrument capable of triggering any sound imaginable. Xtevion was a founding member of The Knights of Indulgence Theatre United States (KITUS) who's original and ground-breaking works of performance changed people's perceptions of the Theatre. Xtevion's theatrical leanings are evident in the many voices and personalities that populate the music.In June of 2010 he unveiled his first solo performance piece "XTeVioN Reads From The Book not Yet Written." It incorporates chance operations and indeterminacy ala John Cage, William Burroughs' cut-up technique,Brian Eno's Oblique Strategies,the Big Black Stick,and some spirited karaoke. Less
