The Last City began in 2012 while Adrien and Lizbet Palmer were living abroad in Hiroshima, Japan. The Last City began in 2012 while Adrien and Lizbet Palmer were living abroad in Hiroshima, Japan. That core duo of an acoustic guitarist and a classically trained violinist, respectively, has since relocated to Dallas, Texas. There, they have expanded, bringing on bassist Lucas Reader. On their self-titled LP, you’ll find an Indie Chamber Pop sound, drawing from such influences as Damien Rice, John Mayer, The xx, One Republic and The Arctic Monkeys. Their music is intended to remind us that we are all one. Emerging from conservative evangelical roots, their lyrics and music draw from that mythology but never fit that box. The world was always much bigger than that. Since the release of their first live album in late 2018, Cinderblock Sessions, a recording of their cd release show featuring a full string quartet, they are hard at work on their next project. Willfully Human will consist of an album, an accompanying book, and a few more surprises.  Visit Patreon to learn more.
