Ten Foot Tiger is a Sacramento based collective of musicians driving solely by the desire to create stirring original music. With a sound beyond traditional categories, they've found themselves absorbed into the jam-band scene. Although, they stand well outside that lane with their catch indie-pop like tunes. "To define is to confine" says frontman Dan Green, formerly of the rock/funk/folk duo Black Star Safari. The primary roster is filled out by Sacramento funk bass legend Michael Lynn Palmer (The Nibblers/Mumbo Gumbo) and the up and coming drummer Billy Thompson (The Gold Souls). They're often joined by a rotating guest list of local musicians from whatever city they find themselves in. They have poignant and provocative songs as well as powerful improvisations that stem from almost every imaginable musical niche.
