Steph Casey is a singer-songwriter based on the Kapiti Coast of New Zealand. Her sound is a mix of indie-folk and alt country, and her debut album Whisper & Holler went straight to number four in the New Zealand Independent Music Album Charts and number eight in the New Zealand Album Charts upon release. Three of the songs were semi-finalists in the 2013 UK Songwriting Contest and the remaining nine received Commended Entry. The judges are Grammy, BRIT and CMA Award winning producers and artists, and over 7000 entries are submitted each year.Whisper & Holler received glowing international reviews and Casey won the People’s Choice Award at the 2013 Wellington Folk festival. Among her musical influences are Over the Rhine, Lucinda Williams, Mary Gauthier, The Civil Wars, Anika Moa, and Glen Hansard.
