Salt Lick

What started as the bedroom recording project of Malia Seavey (vocals, guitar) and Teddy Kieser (guitar, vocals) laid the foundation of Salt Lick. What started as the bedroom recording project of Malia Seavey (vocals, guitar) and Teddy Kieser (guitar, vocals) laid the foundation of Salt Lick. The two met while playing in the Seattle music scene circa 2015 and collaborated on the At the Peak album. In late 2016 they joined Ian McQuillen (bass), Lindsey Kaghan (guitar, vocals) and Kevin Middleton (drums) to complete the current lineup. The More Is More EP soon followed, accompanied by a West Coast tour which included an in-studio performance for Radio Boise’s Live Sounds series. Seeking to synthesize influences ranging from Pacific Northwest indie legends Modest Mouse to the myriad guitar tunings of Joni Mitchell, Salt Lick have always presented a unique sound. They steadily built a following, playing with local luminaries like Great Spiders and Donormaal as well as nationally-recognized artists including Great Grandpa, Jeff Rosenstock, and Lisa Prank. For the future, the band looks forward to heading to Austin to participate in their first SXSW experience as well as continuing to expand their musical scope. Less
