Leon Thum was born in Penang and picked up the guitar at age 10. While classical lessons gave Leon the basic fundamentals of the instrument, it wasn’t untill he was 17 years of age when he started developing a style and technique of his own which he simply identifies as “Rhythmic Harmonics” A year later, his first song titled “Aparna”, which primarily uses this technique was born. Busking the streets of london and subway stations in the 90s for pocket money whilst pursuing his legal studies, Leon kept the romance with the acoustic guitar ongoing. He has managed  to keep the set up simple yet evoking the guitar’s every resonance to play melodious compositions with his unique fingerstyle technique. The opportunity arose when youtube allowed the platform for one to showcase their passion. Reflecteons (Reflections) was leon’s contribution to the world of fingerstyle guitar playing.
