With over 2 released albums, 2 EPs, and the third album on its way, Umar Plummer, better known as Jah Rain, is an expert independent singer-songwriter, producer, and audio engineer on the rise in the Reggae world. Hailing from Kingston, Jamaica and while attending Rock Hall Primary in St.Andrew, Jah Rain’s influence came from numerous big-name reggae musicians and artistes such as Lee Scratch Perry, Dennis Brown, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Burning Spears, and the list goes on. Although none of his family members were involved in music, Jah Rain had an ear and active passion for music after only a year or two of experiencing life. Ever since he was a young boy, Jah Rain’s father, Dyrick, would hang around a small band in his community where he would always take him to their rehearsal and that’s where his obsession grew. Over the years, Jah Rain developed his skills with vocals, composing instrumentals, audio engineering, and producing for a short period.  He began writing and performing in his teens. After studying his musical role models, Jah Rain adopted a unique approach to his career by growing his locs and creating a more spiritual and cultural vibration to assist with the rhythmic flavor of all of his performances. Jah Rain has produced numerous reggae artists namely Frankie Paul, Eddie Fitzroy, Chaka Demus, Lutan Fyah, and John Mouse to name a few. These interactions helped him to gain recognition and acknowledgment. Jah Rain aspires to keep producing music that speaks to fans across the musical spectrum. His signature style has become synonymous with a diverse collection of melodies and compositions.  This musician is on the rise, and nothing can stop him from achieving the success for which he has worked diligently. He is currently finishing up his upcoming Roots Reggae album titled STRYKLY ROOTZ; produced by his record label “Iyah Vybz Muzik”.
