Good In The Dark is a collaboration between multi-instrumentalist Heather Perry, percussionist Carlos Zapata, and guitarist Grant Goldsworthy. Often described as “disco-punk,” the first-year band has already released an acclaimed EP and played shows across the East Coast and Mid-Atlantic, including dates in NYC, Buffalo, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Milwaukee, and more. Perry spent twelve years in Chicago performing, recording, and touring with various bands, all of which included Zapata on percussion. When their project Bring Your Ray Gun disbanded in 2014, the pair wanted to continue writing dance music despite Perry’s relocation to Pennsylvania. They embarked on a long-distance collaboration, trading files and renting a cabin at a halfway point in Ohio to track together. Noise guitarist Grant Goldsworthy joined the line-up in 2017. The debut EP "Rafters" came out on 11/28/17 and garnered praise from critics across the US and UK. It is available on limited edition 10" vinyl and digitally. Perry writes and performs bass, synths, and vocals; Zapata provides drums, auxilliary percussion, and production; Goldsworthy adds guitar and vocals. Live, the band can perform as a two-piece or three-piece depending on the geographies of its members. Good In The Dark is currently at work on their second album, slated for release in 2019. Less
