Alqeed, formerly known as Yung-k/Yung-k Ryan/Ryyxn is a fast rising Afrobeat artist with a rare, contagious & mesmerizing voice. Alqeed sings for everyone. Today he’s for love, tomorrow, he’s for heartbreak & another time, he’s uplifting you & spreading joy through his music. It is of no doubt that Alqeed is set to leave a mark in the world of Afrobeat. The Mushin born young star hails from Kwara state, Nigeria. Alqeed’s musical journey initially started as a rapper on the streets of Ebutte Meta, Lagos where he drew his rap strength from Olamide (Baddo). However, his rap journey was unfortunately cut short and a loyal friend of his adviced him to opt for singing. In 2019, Alqeed gave singing a shot & ever since he hit the studio, looking back was never an option. In 2019, 16 years old Alqeed released his debut song titled “Body” under the name Yung-K. Subsequently, he served his fans with more songs which include: “Abena”, “More”, “Sweet Loving”, among others. In 2021, Alqeed participated in The Top 20 Next to Blow Artiste by NaijaLoaded & emerged as the second runner up. This accomplishment boosted his confidence, increased his fan base as well as his popularity. In 2022, Olaitan Habeeb Akorede officially changed his stage name from Ryyxn to Alqeed because he felt his previous names were not authentic & unique enough to identify him as an artist.
